As people of faith, it is difficult to grapple with the humanity and humility of Jesus.
But there is Good News in this humanity.
Perhaps God knows what it is like to make mistakes and to need repentance.
This episode explores Matthew 15:21-28 and the interaction between Jesus and the Canaanite woman. It invites those who have been in the Canaanite woman’s shoes to persist, even in the face of patriarchy and racism and hatred masked as piety.
It tells those of us with privilege like Jesus’ that God is inviting and demanding us to take a second gaze, to evolve, to repent.
Because even Jesus got defensive sometimes. But he didn’t have to stay defensive.
